Ook nog een vraagje over de Robbe 3 plus lader. Adrie en ik hebben zo'n lader gekocht vanwege de vele opties. Alleen in de specificaties viel me iets op:
De lader 3 plus laad tussen de 0,5 en 3,5A en ontlaad met 2A.
Dat betekend dat een akku met maximaal 3,5A geladen kan worden.
Als je de 3,3A akku die je gekocht hebt laad duurt het nog geen uur.
Bij een akku met een grotere capacitijd duurt het alleen langer.
En de ontlaad modus is maximaal 2A
En dat betekent dat het ontladen van een akku met 2A gebuurt.
Als je een volle 3,3A akku gaat ontladen duurt het iets meer dan 1,6uur.
The Lader 3 Plus is a battery charger/discharger designed specifically to meet the requirements of the electric-powered model enthusiast.
Connected to the 230 V mains supply the unit can recharge the drive battery, the transmitter battery and the receiver battery simultaneously.
It can also be connected to a 12 V lead-acid battery, when it operates as a mobile rapid-charger for drive batteries.
The drive battery output (NC) is a rapid-charge output with Delta Peak termination, designed for charging 6 - 7 cell NC packs.
As you would expect, this output also offers the facility to slow-charge (SLOW) drive packs, which allows you to balance their state of charge.
At the end of the rapid-charge (QUICK) process the trickle charge circuit ensures that the pack stays fully charged.
The rapid-charge current is variable within the range 0.3 - 3.5 A, while the trickle charge current (SLOW) is around 150 mA.
In addition to the SLOW and QUICK charge facilities the Lader 3 PLUS features a discharging circuit.
It is also possible to discharge before charging, and to set up a repeated discharge – charge cycle.
At the RX output 4 - 8 cells (typically a 4 - 5 cell receiver pack) can be charged at a rate of about 60 mA. At the TX output a 4 - 8 cell battery (typically an 8-cell transmitter pack) can be charged at a rate of about 140 mA.
Connecting the unit, charging Connect the charger to the 230 V mains supply or a lead-acid battery.
The POWER LED will light up, and you will hear a single beep.
230 V mains operation:
connect the mains cable to the charger, and the mains plug to a 230 V wall socket.
Do not connect the crocodile clips to a 12 V lead-acid battery.
12 V battery operation:
disconnect the mains cable from the 230 V mains socket and remove the cable from the charger.
Connect the crocodile clips to the terminals of a 12 V lead-acid battery.
Maintain correct polarity (red = +, black = -).
Select a charge cable with matching polarised connector for your NC battery, and connect it to the appropriate sockets on the charger (red = +, black = -).
Connect the NC pack to the charge lead.
The LED above the charge output in use will light up.
Slow charging: RX, TX and drive battery
Please be sure to read the manufacturer’s notes supplied with the batteries.
RX and TX packs can only be charged when the unit is connected to the mains supply.
Connect the batteries to the appropriate charge outputs (receiver battery to RX, transmitter battery to TX and drive battery to the 6-7 NC output), following the inscriptions on the charger case.
Do not press the - MODE - button.
The charge time for all outputs when set to slow charging (at the 6 - 7 NC output the green „SLOW“ LED will flash) can be calculated using this formula:
1.4xnominal capacity (mAh) / charge current (mA)=charge time (h)
Example:
a battery with a nominal capacity of 600 mAh is to be charged at the 60 mA output:
1.4 x 600 mAh / 60 mA = 14 hours
The TX output is optimised for charging 8-cell transmitter batteries, and the charge current is about 140 mA.
However, it can also be used with 4 - 7 cell packs. With a 4-cell battery the charge current is around 170 mA.
The RX output is optimised for charging 4-cell or 5-cell transmitter batteries, and the charge current is about 60 mA.
However, it can also be used with up to 8 cells. In this case the charge current is around 50 mA..
Rapid-charging a drive battery
Set the charge current you wish to use.
When you connect the NC battery the green LED will flash to indicate that the trickle current is flowing.
Press the MODE button once and the red LED marked QUICK lights up.
You will also hear a beep to indicate that rapid-charging is in progress.
When the battery is full, or if you press the MODE button once more, the charger switches back to trickle mode (SLOW).
You will hear audible signals to confirm this.
If a rapid-charge is not possible (QUICK LED does not glow), then the battery is either connected with reverse polarity, the number of cells is less than 6, or the battery is deep-discharged. If the pack is deepdischarged you should give it a slow charge for a few seconds before switching to rapidcharging.
Discharging the drive battery
If you hold the MODE button pressed in for two seconds, the charger starts to discharge the drive battery.
You will hear a double beep to confirm this, and the yellow „DISCHARGE“ LED lights up.
At the end of the discharge, or if you press the MODE button once more, the charger switches over to a SLOW charge.
Discharging before charging the drive battery
Set the charge current you wish to use.
Press the MODE button twice to start the discharge process prior to charging.
You will hear a triple beep in confirmation, and the yellow „DISCHARGE“ LED will light up. At the end of the discharge process you will hear an audible signal, and the charger switches over
to a rapid-charge process.
This in turn is indicated by the red „QUICK“ LED. The charger switches to a SLOW charge in the normal way when the pack is full.
Cycle mode
Set the charge current you wish to use.
First press the MODE button twice, but hold the button pressed in for about two seconds the second time.
Cycle mode (repeated discharge / charge cycling) starts.
You will hear a quadruple beep in confirmation.
The cycle is continuous, and only stops when you press the MODE button again.
The unit then switches to a SLOW charge.
You can interrupt the cycle at any time by pressing the MODE button once or by disconnecting the NC pack.

Note
- When the unit is charging 7 NC cells the charge current falls off towards the end of the charge as the pack’s voltage rises.
- To prevent the battery discharging itself, disconnect it from the charger when you disconnect the unit from the input voltage.
Safety notes
- The charger may only be used with the 230 V AC mains supply or a 12 V DC lead-acid battery.
- If you know you will not use the charger for a long period, disconnect the mains plug at the wall socket and remove any NC packs connected to the charger.
- When setting up the charger check that all cooling vents are unobstructed so that air can circulate unhindered, i.e. don’t stand it on carpet or other soft material.
- Do not place the charger and batteries on an inflammable surface and supervise them.
- Use the charger in dry indoor conditions only.
- When setting up the charger ensure that there is a mains socket easily accessible and close by.
- Protect the unit from damp.
- Always ensure that the polarity of the charge output is correct.
- Avoid short-circuits.
- Do not leave the charger in direct sunshine.
- Do not attempt to charge a battery which is already hot to the touch. Allow the pack to cool down to ambient temperature first.
- NC packs must be assembled from cells of the same make and capacity.
- Do not attempt to charge two batteries connected in parallel.
- Observe the information and instructions supplied by the battery manufacturer.
- Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable cells (i.e. ordinary dry cells).
Kijk ik vraag het natuurlijk omdat ik er met de handleiding niet helemaal uitkwam.....dus een kopie van de handleiding die ik hier al heb, helpt me niet verder
Over het algemeen is m'n Engels prima maar bepaalde termen ken ik soms niet of soms snap ik de losse woorden wel maar niet wat ze nou met de zin bedoelen. Daarom vroeg ik of iemand van jullie het mij misschien kon uitleggen.
